Find cheaper flights with AI

Can ChatGPT find cheap flights?

Not reliably on its own – chat AI tools don't see every live fare. Use them to brainstorm savings: nearby airports, cheaper days, stopovers and hidden fees. Perplexity or Gemini can pull current web information. Then check the actual prices on a flight-comparison site or airline website before you book.

Copy-and-paste prompt

Swap the bits in [square brackets] for your own details.

I want to fly from [city] to [city] around [dates], [flexibility, e.g. ±3 days]. Budget [amount]. [Number] passengers, [cabin bags only?]. Suggest ways to make this cheaper: alternative airports within [distance], cheaper days to fly, airlines that usually serve this route, whether a stopover could save money, and what extra fees to watch for. Say clearly which facts you are unsure about.

How to do it

  1. Use the prompt to get a list of flexible ideas (nearby airports, days, routes).
  2. Check each idea in a flight-comparison site or the airline's own site.
  3. Book directly once you've found a price you're happy with.

What a good answer looks like

Illustrative example written by the AI My Day team to show the kind of answer you can expect. It is not a captured tool output, and real results vary.

Ways to cut the cost: 1. Fly midweek – Tuesdays and Wednesdays are often cheaper on this route (check, as it varies). 2. Try the second airport 45 minutes away; low-cost airlines may use it. 3. A one-stop route could be cheaper but adds about 4 hours. 4. Watch fees: cabin bag, seat selection and card charges. I'm not certain of current prices – check a comparison site.

Can AI book flights for me?

Some tools are testing booking features, but we recommend booking yourself on a trusted site so you can check the final price and terms.

Are AI price predictions reliable?

No. Treat any price an AI quotes as a rough guess until you see it on a booking page.
